Baby nappies are diapers. They are used for babies and children who have not been toilet trained yet.
All the options that are available come in a slew of sizes and it seems as if they change features constantly. There are quite a few types. There are disposables that come in a variety of shapes and sizes, there are gender neutral disposable ones and gender specific ones, there are colored disposable ones, there are disposable ones with cartoon figures imprinted across them.
Disposable types stay in a landfill for a hundreds of years and the silica gel the absorbent material in the disposable nappies can poison the ground water and fish that are affected by the ground water. Some key components are the absorbent properties, almost all of them have some sort of elastic around the legs as well to help to prevent leaks. Disposable kinds are very convenient but are bad for the environment and not so good on the wallet.
There are other options to disposables, there are cloths kinds that can be worn with a plastic cover to prevent leaks and stains on the clothes.
Cloth types have a couple of pluses over disposable nappies the first plus is that they save money, they do not get thrown away they get washed and reused. The second big plus is that they do not cause any harm to the environment. There are a few less than attractive qualities to using cloth ones, primarily is the convenience of being able to wrap up the dirty diaper and tossing it in the trash. It can be a hassle to have to clean the diaper out and then wash it, but it really does save a ton of money for just a little bit extra work. Cloth ones were very popular up to the late nineteen sixties when disposables hit the scene.
These baby nappies are a necessary baby item, regardless of if they are disposable or cloth, they will most certainly be used.
